What is the process of getting a new fence?
First Rate Fence & Supply is a fencing company…so trust us when we say we know a few things about getting the ball rolling on your new fence. This post will walk you through our process from A - Z, or from free estimate to the final walk through.
Step 1: You decide that you need an awesome new custom fence.
There are so many reasons you could have come to this conclusion. Maybe you’re noticing some wiggle in your fence, maybe you got a new pup who is great at plotting new escape routes, maybe some crazy Colorado winds blew your old fence over, or maybe you’re just wanting to up your curb appeal. Those are all great reasons! It’s a good idea to let us know your reason up front so we can find the absolute best fencing solution for you.
Step 2: You do your research on reputable fencing companies that service the front range.
As a smart consumer (you are reading this article, after all) you know you need to do your due diligence before you hire just any old fencing company. Here at First Rate Fence & Supply, we are proud to show off our great reviews. If a company you’re looking into doesn’t have any reviews or is hard to track down outside of their website, we would recommend using a bit of caution. When people are happy with their home improvement results they usually don’t hesitate to leave a great review. Know who you’re hiring. Step 3: Contact First Rate Fence & Supply to schedule your FREE estimate.

There are a few things we love to know upfront so we can come to your home, land, or business as prepared as possible.
-Roughly how many many linear feet is your project? This is just a simple measurement from the first post to the last post of your fence.
-What material are you looking to have your fence made from? There are many options but the most popular are wood, metal, and vinyl.
-What style fence do you want? You have many, many options when it comes to style.We can do a classic 6’ Cedar Privacy Fence, a Board on Board Fence that will provide extra defense against light and noise pollution from busy streets, a Split Rail Fence for something more rural, an Ornamental Metal Fence for an elegant yet secure solution, and of course classic Chain Link. Those are just a few of MANY options to get you thinking about what your perfect fence may look like.
Step 4: We come to you to perform the site check.
This is great opportunity for us to get to know each other a little better! We pride ourselves on building great, lasting relationships with our customers and we would love to add you to that group.
For the site check, we will talk through what you want out of your new fence. Once we have an understanding of your needs we will walk the line where your brand new custom fence will be installed and get the measurements down perfectly. After that, we’ll get out of your hair and back to the office to build your estimate.
Step 5: We build your FREE estimate.
To build your estimate, we reach out to our suppliers and check updated prices for every piece of material needed to build your dream fence. Be cautious of anyone who offers you an estimate on the spot—prices fluctuate and if you’re not careful you could see that estimate increase AFTER you’ve already hired them to do the job. We put time and effort into our estimates so we can stand by them and not give you any unpleasant price increase notices down the road. This is also why our estimates are good for two weeks after our customers receive them. Once we have the material priced, we add labor costs, and any disposal costs to the estimate so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Step 6: You respond to our estimate.
Once you’ve accepted our estimate (and why wouldn’t you? We’re fairly and competitively priced and we’re all around nice people!) we’ll agree on a start date, then we’ll collect a deposit to cover the cost of materials and disposal and put you on our schedule..
Step 7: We get to work!
We will be on site on our agreed upon start date bright and early! For now, you can just sit back and relax knowing your fence is in good hands.
Step 8: We do a customer walk through.
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a beautiful new fence! Don’t worry, we won’t just leave your property and send a bill. We will personally walk through your fence project with you and make sure you’re happy! After this walk through we’ll collect the final payment for labor and disposal and part as friends.
Step 9: You show off your new fence and leave us a review.
This part is important! If you’re happy with your new fence (which you will be, of course) please feel free to refer us to your friends and neighbors and leave us a 5 star review on Google. In our business, reviews are of paramount importance and we sincerely appreciate every single one!
